My favourite dice for rolling percentages (also for use as d10s or d20s).

In the background are Hero dice, which are basically ordinary d6s (they have the Hero Games Hexman logo instead of a 1, but that’s not relevant to their function) except they have dots below some of the numbers: a single dot under 2 to 5 and two below the 6. In the Hero System the dots are a quick way of adding up how much Body damage you’ve rolled.

My old dice, being “a piece of plastic”, and modern dice with a liquid core.

(I could do this all day, we probably need a dice thread)

If we’re showing off dice, I have to roll out this set I own.

I’ve never actually used them in a game, for obvious reasons.

It’s because your game system is forcing you to add irrational numbers to your die rolls.

I assume that (pi) is short for piercing and not the famous number.

Those O-12 dice are making me feel queasy. Who thought they could possibly be a good idea?

Does this mean your dice could leak?

We had a dice leak here now. Give us a few minutes to lock it down. Large leak… very dangerous.”

I don’t have the liquid dice myself yet, just showing what’s on the market.

But yeah, presumably if the resin gets broken a substantial amount of the interior is liquid. And glitter, usually.

I have a set of “PPC” liquid core D6 from Battletech.

I bought them as an afterthought. But they are so cool.

The image doesn’t do them justice, but they have red and gold glitter that swirls when you roll them.

They are so goddamn cool.

To the left the ones that are old enough to vote. The darker the hue the more likely I used them for Vampire:tM some of them were unreadable back then… I mean who plays Vampire with bright overhead lights?

To the right, the youngsters … oh well.

We also each bought an overpriced set of Wyrmwood stone dice. They are very beautiful and you can’t roll them on wooden table for fear of damaging both the table and the dice.

I use the sharp edged plastic ones I got instead. But I feel the sharp edged D6 don’t really “roll” so … they are more thrown normally.

Also: next SPIEL I will pay yet another visit to the Chessex booth

Stunning!

And yes, the red one at the top of your old dice photo is the same as mine. I recognise the greens under it too! I’ve only just started looking at new styles, I think I have more Sharp dice to get before I feel I have enough.

My local games con includes one of those each year (a different design each time), and I want to like them, but I can’t.

The fancy logo is the 1 and my brain cannot cope with the biggest and busiest pattern on a D6 face not being the 6. Every time I go to use one of them, I have to check what the stupid logo means because a part of me always expects it to be the opposite.

Yep, I’d be keen on these but the huge logo puts me off:
