I’m not at home but I know I have a spell in my hand (Choke, I think) that I can cast to exhaust your phoenixborn and deal 1 damage, which I can cast as my main. Rather than waiting all day for that, I’ll just state that here, unless you can prevent it.

Yeah, nothing I can do there either. I have two reactions in hand, one “when an opponent targets a unit I control” and one “after an opponent has the choice to declare blockers or a guard”. Neither of which is any good if units aren’t involved.
