I think this order got missed off from the final map update: Y5 should be empty and have reverted to Yellow’s control.
oops! good catch! yes. I think it didn’t save when I did it and it captured the old save.
I’m unable to edit (and count up points) at the moment (away from home).
Well, if my math is correct, we have the following:
@Assussanni - 36
@Whistle_Pig - 35
@COMaestro - 30
@RogerBW - 29
Congrats to Assussanni for being the most devious and manipulative!
I have only played once before so did not remember that Yellow only has one attack action. That is crippling!
Yes, that is one thing to remember… Yellow only has the Chancellor making attack decisions!
Congratulations and Thank you all for playing!
For new players, what did you think of the game?
(also, would any of you play again?)
Thanks for running the game!
I would play again!
This is only my second play (and the first was only a two player one), but I remain overall impressed with the game. It just needs a couple of tweaks to be great, IMO.
For one, unless I’m missing something, there is no way to take over a Chancellor space that is occupied by another player. This can utterly stymie the Lion clan if someone who is not interested in their advancement takes the spot and doesn’t leave it. So a mechanism to do that would be good (probably a combination of cards). That or just adding a second attack action to Yellow.
In any case, I had fun. Thanks for running the game!
That is an excellent observation and a strategic option! Yes, I think cards would be needed. But I like this game for the “sneaky” tactics that could be interpreted wrongly and you don’t know it!
Interestrd in playing again though not right away. Thanjs for running it!
I found it very hard to figure out how to make progress, it seemed much easier to hamstring the empires I wanted to do badly compared to elevating the empires I wanted to do well. Hence my occupying the Yellow Chancellor for the whole game, they were my -1 empire and it was the only way for them to attack.
The card effects seemed like they could be quite strong, and the only way of surprising the other players, so perhaps I’d prioritise getting more of them throughout the game.
I think the game works well for PBF (and was well run, thanks Delwayne). I’m not sure about the game itself, it would be interesting to see if some sort of meta game emerges with repeated plays. It felt to me like the board almost ended up back where it started and we didn’t accomplish very much. If that is often the case then I’m not sure it’s a game that I’d really enjoy.
