Well, August has come and gone, and not many games played, tragically. Our Earthborne Rangers campaign is continuing along nicely I suppose, and Nick and I managed to play another round of the Battletech Aces: Scouring Sands campaign, and it’s a tonne of fun! So I guess fewer games, but really enjoyable ones.

Oh, and one game of War for Arrakis! What a banger! Such a good game!

We also played a fair number of games not on my list (Race for the Galaxy, Innovation, Cascadia: Alpine Lakes, Dnup, and Things in Rings off the top of my head) as my partner and I have adjusted to life without a cat around. It’s slow adjustments.

Oh, and our bathroom is being renovated, which means the house is a low-level warzone. Noisy and dusty all the time. ALL the time. Also an adjustment.

Managed to play a game of Green Team Wins, and it’s very good and light. Solid. Flip 7 With a Vengeance is fine, as good as the original but not better. I find Old King’s Crown hasn’t wowed me… I enjoyed the two playthroughs of it I’ve done, but there’s no burning desire to pull it out again (unlike, say, War for Arrakis or Dune Imperium, which I would drop everything right now to play again). It’s beautiful, but the theme is so thin that I don’t know if I care about the game itself? Maybe I just need to get it on the table where everyone understands how it ticks, see if it sparks something then.

First month with no progress of any kind. Just busy with other things, and spent more free time on video games as of late. But still on track for my goal of playing one of my unplayed games each month since I got two games played for a couple of the months, instead of just one.

It’s been a while since I’ve played, and a new set has come out in the meantime. The challenge:

  • Finish sorting all my cards into folders
  • Build corp and a runner decks that are startup legal for the current rotation
  • Go to an event to test them out
